Impregnation and Metal Castings

X-Seal's history is that of impregnation, a term generally established in the metal casting industry to cover the process of sealing porosity that occurs when castings are manufactured.

Not generally known to the general public, every motorcar engine produced worldwide today contains vital metal castings like cylinder blocks that have been impregnated with Acrylic Sealant to prevent porosity leakage.

Motor EngineOne thing that metal casting impregnation taught us is that a sealant deposited within a structure becomes virtually indestructible with a lifespan well beyond its expectations as a surface coating.  Even when exposed to the temperature and stresses imposed upon it within an automotive engine environment, the sealant had an anticipated lifespan of 25 years or more.
